Are you having problems paying your Service Oil heating oil or propane bills this winter? Help is here!
We understand that times can be tough, and thanks to the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance program (LIHEAP), Pennsylvania families can receive cash grants to help pay their heating bills.
What is LIHEAP?
- LIHEAP is financial assistance that can help you keep your home warm and safe during the coldest winter months.
- From now until April 10, 2026, you can apply for a cash grant to help pay your heating bill.
- You can receive from $200 to $1,000 based on your household size, income, and fuel type.
- The LIHEAP cash grant is a one-time payment, and will be sent directly to SOC Energy/Service Oil Co. to be credited on your bill.
- You may be eligible to receive additional funds for a household heating emergency through a crisis grant.
Am I Eligible for LIHEAP?
- To qualify for LIHEAP in Pennsylvania, you must meet income requirements, which are set based on your household size. Please see this link for eligibility relating to household size and income.
- Renters and homeowners are both eligible for benefits.
- You do not need to be on another public assistance program or have unpaid heating bills to qualify.
How Do I Apply for LIHEAP?
You can apply for LIHEAP online, by mail, or in-person at your local county assistance office.
- Use this link to apply for LIHEAP Online.
- To complete an application in person at a county assistance office, download a LIHEAP application in your language of choice.
